Laura Cannell’s [Modern Ritual] is a new series of performance events which explore ideas of ritual through music and words, and evokes real and fictional landscapes.
[Modern Ritual] is ancient, modern, experimental, real, fictional, personal, folkloric. It explores human and mechanical rituals, failure of ritual, through live improvisation and provides a platform to premier new works.
Featuring: Charles Hayward (This Heat), Laura Cannell, André Bosman/Hoofus, Jennifer Lucy Allan (The Wire/Guardian Foghorn Researcher) and Luke Turner (The Quietus, Writer).
Modern Ritual gratefully acknowledges funding from the Arts Council of England National Lottery Funding supporting new commissions and a UK tour in 2017 and 2018.
